While all residential wells are constructed with resilient materials such as PVC plastic and stainless steel, over time your water quality/quantity may begin to deteriorate. Simple preventative techniques can be used to remove built up mineralization or fine sands that can reduce water flow into your well.

Monitoring Wells/Piezometers
Piezometers are used in coalition with irrigation and municipal wells so that water levels and quality can be measured constantly. Piezometers consist of 2 inch PVC pipe that is installed into the aquifer, allowing monitoring devices to be stored inside.
Well Flow/Pump Test
Pump tests are conducted to determine the rate at which a water well produces water. By first determining the safe pumping parameters of a well you can then figure out what size of pump to use and at what depth to place it. Large scale pump tests are also conducted on irrigation wells to determine whether the pump rate is sustainable so that there is less risk of wells going dry.
Well Abandonment
It is important to decommission old or unused wells so that they do not provide a gateway for contaminants to enter a groundwater source. Large diameter wells can also be a danger for people or objects that can fall into them. At M&M Drilling we use both cement and specialized grout to seal off and properly decommission water wells, adhering to Manitoba Water Well Association standards.
Acidizations
Acidizing a well consists of pumping an acid into an existing water well to dissolve built up minerals and remove damage to the formation caused by drilling and completion techniques. Over time minerals such as Iron and Manganese can build up in your water supply. By the use of Hydrochloric or Corella acid we can remove these built up minerals and increase flow rates and water quality.
Pump Installment/Repair
M&M Drilling has been in the pump installation and replacement business for 30 years. We specialize in large submersible pumps and line shaft turbines that provide water for provincial pipelines and irrigation systems. With our specialized service rig we can pull pumps installed on drop pipe as small as one inch poly hose and as large as 8 inch threaded steel. We can also fish foreign objects that have fallen into your well and remove residential pumps that have become stuck or trapped within your aging well.
Exploration/Test Holes
Many areas that have existing water wells are logged within our provincial data base, but not all wells are the same. Formations can vary immensely within small areas, so test holes are typically required. Our test holes are 2 7/8 in diameter and can be drilled to depths of 400 ft. If a water well is installed our test hole fees are usually waived. (Situations may vary)
Irrigation Wells
Irrigation wells are large scale Water Wells that provide a surplus of water for agricultural or municipal use. Ranging in size from 8 to 12 inch and constructed of PVC or steel casing, these large wells can produce anywhere from 200 to 2000 Gallons per minute. Our drillers have worked alongside Hydrologists in the province to provide water solutions to towns or cities that require a source for their water treatment plant.
Residential Water Wells
M&M Drilling specializes in small diameter residential wells. These wells are typically 5 inches in diameter and vary in depth depending on the location. Our wells are constructed with PVC casing and stainless steel filtration screens, making a long lasting product that is resistant to normal weathering processes. All residential and irrigation wells are installed to the specifications of the Canadian Ground Water Association (CGWA) and Manitoba Water Well Association (MWWA).
